Job Description:
The Global Demand Manager for Delrin® is an exciting opportunity to join this business and create a robust, best-in-class Global Demand Management function for our highly specialized polymer business. Based in Wilmington, DE, remote in the US, or Geneva, Switzerland, the role is responsible for developing and maintaining accurate demand forecasts globally, and understanding the key drivers of demand across all regions and segments. The Demand Manger will oversee two Demand Planners in the EMEA and APAC regions, and will also serve as the Demand Planner for the Americas region. The role will also be accountable for improving in the demand forecasting process, driving market insights and becoming the focal point of communicating demand to all stakeholders.
Responsibilities

Manages and develops an accurate demand forecast at the appropriate levels, horizons and intervals
- Monitor demand trends and patterns to identify potential opportunities or risks that may impact the business
- Identify changes, risks, opportunities, and remedial actions
- Recognize “turning points” (leading indicators, demand sensing) in demand and monitor changes in key business drivers
- Understand market environment, trends, including leading indicators, and the impact on the demand plans for the business/segment/region
- Ensure that demand planning processes and systems are in place to support accurate forecasting and inventory management

Accountable for understanding all sources of demand for Delrin® across all regions and segments globally
- Aggregate all sources of demand including external sales, samples, interplant and interregional demand, for the integrated supply chain of all products and services with sufficient detail for the 24 month Integrated Business Management planning horizon
- Manage the forecasting tool and monitor system-created statistical forecasts. Maintain forecast parameters, consumption history, product groups. Identify trends and seasonality
- Develop, document and update the assumptions supporting the Demand Plan
- Identify issues and decisions regarding the Demand Plan
- Develop product mix forecasts as input for supply planning, based on aggregate demand plan

Accountable for monitoring the performance of the process and continually improving output, accuracy and bias
- Monitor the demand plan performance by measuring actual vs. Planned performance for product family and product mix (bias, demand forecast error)
- Participate in the development and evaluation of what-if scenarios (simulations) to resolve demand/supply imbalances
- Provide insight to the business by developing models, decoding variances and providing meaningful commentary

Focal point for communicating Demand Forecast to stakeholders across the organization
- Develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders across the organization to ensure that demand planning processes are effectively integrated into overall business strategies
- Work closely with other functional areas, including Sales, Marketing, Operations, and Finance, to ensure that demand forecasts are aligned with business plans and objectives
- Lead discussion of demand in DIBM meetings, member of DIBM team as appropriate
- Own & lead the Global and Regional demand review process segments of the larger monthly Integrated Business Management Process. Review demand plans (Volume/Value). Review market and product intelligence, Integrate new & change product and strategies plan
- Challenge the sales and marketing assumptions when significant deviations occur between the statistical forecast and the forward looking Demand Plan
- Work with the Supply Chain Manager & Master Scheduler to fine-tune the product mix plan
- Integrate demand plans for new product and/or new markets working with product and marketing managers

Coordinate & provide leadership to the demand planners
- Provide leadership and guidance to the demand planning team, promoting a culture of continuous improvement and collaboration.
- Collaborate with regional demand planners in EMEA and APAC to develop accurate demand forecasts that align with business objectives and goals.
- Own and develop the detailed demand plan for the AMS region
- Manage development and capability of the Demand Team & ensure back-up when needed
- Approve Demand Plan and product mix forecast developed by Demand Planners
Qualifications:
- Completed Bachelor’s Degree with Business Administration, further education in business, financial management, operations or supply chain management would be an advantage
- Customer facing experience. 7-10 Year equivalent sales and marketing and/or Supply Chain experience
- Experience in Demand Planning in the Automotive industry would be a plus
- Structured and effective way of working within a cross-functional team environment even under pressure
- Strong communication, analytical and lateral leadership skills
- Ability to drive consensus by facilitating a collaborative process across different functions
- Global and proactive mindset striving for continuous improvement in the E2E process
- We are seeking a hands-on leader who can be strategic and also roll up their sleeves to guide or perform the detailed work as needed.
- Proficiency in using Microsoft Office with good Excel/Access skills/Power BI , experience in SAP & general at ease with IT systems
- Fluency in English is a must

- Please note - The preference for this position is a hybrid working model at one of our Delrin locations in the US. Experimental Station in Wilmington, Delaware, Washington Works in Parkersburg, West Virginia, or Auburn Hills, Michigan. Remote work model will also be considered on the east coast.
